You can increase the filtration area by adding more media to your biOrb. The smooth surface and circular shape of the Pearl Media make it ideal for aquariums with bottom-feeding inhabitants. Made of quartz and flux, this media does not alter the water's pH value. Each pearl has a diameter of 10-12mm. While routine maintenance does not require removing the media, replacing some of it every year or so helps maintain efficient filtration.
